Is the Big 10 relevant any more? We vote no. Hence, that conference should now be called the Little 10. What has that conference contributed to any of the three major sports (football, basketball, baseball) in recent memory? Nothing other than being blown out and embarrassed in the last two BCS title games.
In fact, the only thing big about the Big 10 is that it is actually comprised of 11 teams, not 10. But, in the end, that extra teams just make the conference’s failures even worse. Read the rest of this entry »
We just came across this story about the Falcons having an interest in hiring USC’s Pete Carroll to be their next head coach. Really??? Is that such a good idea? We vote no.
We can’t quite figure out why Arthur Blank, recently dumped by a former and now current college coach, would take his chances with another college coach. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Read the rest of this entry »
Before going to bed last night, we all gathered and said two prayers.
The first prayer was in hopes of Alabama making it to the BCS title game next year. The second prayer was that Ohio State would make it there again as well.
So, we’re watching some of the BCS title game preview on ESPN last night. In addition to the usual crew of Fowler, Corso, and Herbstreit, they have brought in Penn State alum Todd Blackledge to add his two cents. And if you’re counting, that’s two guys from the Big 10 and 0 from the SEC on the set.
