We’ve finally figured it out…

Tiger Woods had an accident leaving his house because a photographer snapped a picture during his drive.

Executives at ESPN have decided that instead of airing the ACC Championship Game next weekend, they will have an encore presentation of Georgia’s rousing 41-37 win over South Carolina from September 12.

***The network’s goal is to always put forth the best product available.

There is an article out today stating that the Cleveland Browns would welcome Lebron James with open arms if he was interested in playing football.  At first, we considered what a great gimmick it would be for the woeful Browns to bring in Lebron, only to use him for a home game inside the 5-yard line.

But then we realized that Lebron would likely not even be in Cleveland in 2010.

You may have read that the NFL absurdly and humorlessly fined Chad Ochocinco $20,000 for his joke of offering a one dollar bill to a referee during a replay challenge involving a catch he made.

While the bribe was clearly a joke under the circumstances, it got us to thinking…  had the referees in the Bengals’ game on Sunday been former NFL players from the 1960s, Ochocinco’s bribe of $1 may have actually been successful.

We got sick and tired the past few days of hearing college football commentators constantly using the phrase: They control their own destiny.  It was said about LSU, about Texas, about Alabama, about Florida, about Oregon.  So, if you win all your games from here on out, you are in a better place for good things than if you lose those games.  Genius.

We thought there was no one out there more tired of hearing this “control their own destiny” line than us.  But we were wrong - there is one guy out there who hates it more than us.

The New York Yankees have each been given keys to the city in appreciation for their World Series victory.  We have been told, however, that CC Sabathia claims he did not want keys to the entire city, just the keys to the back door of Lindy’s.

As you may heave read, Florida coach Urban Meyer was fined $30,000 today for making critical comments of the referees in the Gators most recent game versus Georgia.  To get his fine, Meyer claimed that the officials missed a blatant late hit on the precious Tim Tebow, stating, “That should have been a penalty, in my opinion…”

What we’re wondering, though, is why Meyer did not go on listing other missed calls?  Making $24 million over 6 years, we feel certain he could afford a few more $30,000 pops.  So why not keep going.  For example, he could have mentioned…

—how the refs completely blew the personal foul call late in the Florida win over Arkansas, nailing the Hogs with a foul on a play where the Florida guy instigated all of the contact; or

—how, on that very same play in the Arkansas game, the Hogs were flagged for pass interference when it was clear in live action and on replay that the Arkansas defender did not even tough the Gators’ receiver; or

—how Florida linebacker Dustin Doe clearly fumbled the ball before reaching the end zone for the game-clinching touchdown against Mississippi State, even though the replay official still called it a touchdown; or

—how the refs missed linebacker Brandon Spikes headbutting Georgia running back Washaun Ealey after the whistle and missed his eye gouge attempts of Ealey.

We’re just not sure why Meyer stopped with just the one criticism.  It would only have been $120,000 more - that’s nothing to guy making $4 million per year in just salary.  If you’re going to make a statement, Urban, then make a statement - no need to only speak half the truth!

You may know him as College Guy from Coyote Ugly or Barry from the show “Strip Mall” or Frank from the TV movie Spring Break Lawyer or Railroad Boy from Joe Dirt or Max from one episode of “Just Shoot Me” or The Idge from “The Kitty Landers Show” or Rank from “All’s Faire in Love,” but one thing this article wants to point out to you… Chris Wylde is not gay.

Check here for the story.

However, Chris Wylde does not approve of gay slurs either - even if the slur is not said directly at his straight self.  And especially not from a guy who looks like this.
