As we were watching “The Storm” on NBC, we started up an old conversation that we had not had since the show “In Justice” last aired in 2006… how does Marisol Nichols always lead to a show being canceled?  It’s remarkable.  “The Storm” is a 2-part mini-series - hence, we wonder if part 2 will actually air on Sunday, or if NBC will cancel it before we get there?

The track record of Marisol Nichols is a thing to behold.  But in our discussion this time around, we realized something bigger - she single-handedly ended the “Vacation” movies.

Here’s a brief history of Ms. Nichols:

—She’s in 1 episode of “Boy Meets World” in 1999; the show ends in 2000.

—She’s in 1 episode of “Friends” in 2003; show ends in 2004.

—She was in all 13 episodes of the short-lived classic “Blind Justice” and in all 12 episodes of “In Justice.”

—Recently, she showed up for 1 episode of the show “Life” - and guess what?  That show is no longer on the air.

But upon some more reflection, we realized her reign of terror really started in 1997 when she caused the end of a great movie franchise.  Nichols did not appear in the original “National Lampoon’s Vacation.”  Nichols did not appear in “European Vacation.”  Nichols did not appear in “Christmas Vacation.”  See the pattern?

Then, all of a sudden, Nichols shows up as the trashy cousin, Audrey, in “Vegas Vacation.”  Have there been any more since?  No!!!  Somehow, she managed to bring about the end of the Griswolds.

With that kind of power of cancellation, what chance does any TV show have with her in it?  We can only hope and pray now that she somehow finds her way onto “American Idol.”

With Tiger Woods having surprisingly missed the cut, ABC has decided not to show the final two rounds of the 2009 British Open.  Instead, ABC will show a replay of the final two rounds of the 2006 Open, won by Tiger with a -18.

“People would rather watch Tiger,” an anonymous source told us.  “And with the PGA rules so strict about this stupid ‘cut’ thing, we have no choice but to air the archived footage.”

If you’re a Chris DiMarco fan, don’t tune it.

Tennessee Volunteer wideout Austin Rogers, one of their best at that position, will miss the 2009 season due to tearing his ACL during a voluntary workout on Friday.

Upon hearing the news, Kiffin stated, “See, we can lose players for on-field incidents too.”
