If so, it’s a pretty sad irony. Generally, we don’t like to venture too far outside of the realm of sports, but…
We just found it interesting how on Friday night one of the big stories for the Cavs-Pistons playoff game was how tickets were going for just $11 and how the Pistons were sending emails to Cavs season ticketholders offering seats in Detroit and how the economy downturn has hit the area so hard that fans just can’t afford to come out in support of the home team.
Then, late Friday night, the 0-16 Detroit Lions reached a deal to pay $72 million ($40 million guaranteed) to a 21 year-old quarterback who has never taken an NFL snap.
(We think we have an idea where a large chunk of the money in the city of Detroit is going.)
