You may have recently read about former Broncos’ running back Travis Henry getting arrested in a major cocaine bust. You can check here for the full details. In short, the opening from the story in the Rocky Mountain News sums things up nicely:
“Former Broncos running back Travis Henry is portrayed as the ruthless ‘money guy’ in a cocaine trafficking ring who threatened to kill two accomplices and their families if they didn’t repay $40,000 in stolen drug money, according to court records.”
But what amazes us about this entire thing is that Henry played his college ball at Tennessee. Wait, hold on, no, no - that does not amaze us at all. It does the opposite of amaze us. Actually, we would have been amazed if Henry had played for any of the other 118 Division 1-A schools out there. Come on.
We’re pretty sure that Tennessee got its nickname from someone who confused “volunteering” with “mandatory community service” years ago. It’s the only explanation. Actually, it would be really cool for HBO to cover the Volunteers’ program like they do for “Hard Knocks” in the NFL - only they would call it “The Longest Yard.”
But hey, when you play football at Tennessee, you wear orange for life! One way or another.
