After reading this quick news report about FSU wide receiver Preston Parker getting arrested on weapon and drug charges, we would like to echo the sentiments of the article’s final paragraph and offer a shout-out to Randy Spetman.

That last line stated: “The 21-year-old’s arrest is the first major discipline problem at the school since the arrival of new athletic director Randy Spetman earlier this year.”

Congrats, Randy!  Wow, a job well done.  After all, you were hired on February 4th of this year.  That means you made it 2 months and 18 days without one of Bobby Bowden’s “players” getting in trouble.  Must be a record!

We can only imagine how wonderful those 2 months and 18 days were for you, Randy.  Going around the office, or the country club, telling everyone: “It’s now been 2 months and 14 days that I’ve had my job and not one of Bowden’s recruits has had a major discipline problem.  La, la, la.  How great I am!”

This is not a knock on Spetman, as he did not write the article.  We just find it humorous that the AP writer chose to mention this piece of info at the end - as if it was something to be impressed by.
