Seeing as the season ended on Monday for Presbyterian College men’s basketball team, we would like to commend the team (nicknamed Blue Hose) on quite a remarkable season.

The Blue Hose do not play in a conference, so their schedule was a random mix of teams.  Along the way to posting a 5-25 record, the Blue Hose lost to the like of Clemson, Nebraska, Georgia, and Wake Forest.

But here’s what is remarkable about the season: Presbyterian compiled a record of 5-0 at home, while going 0-25 on the road.  One could assume that had Presbyterian found a way to play many more homes games, they might be looking at an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament.

It really is impressive to us.  On top of that 5-0 home make, the Blue Hose won their home games by an average of 33 points per game.   However, on the road they lost by, er -  actually they lost too many road games, and we didn’t have time to crunch the numbers.   But we’re guessing it was a double-digit number.

So, our congratulations go out to Presbyterian and their leading scorer Al’Lonzo Coleman on completing a season we will be talking about for years to come.
