We saw and heard it, as did the many NFL fans watching the Colts-Chargers game on Sunday - the Colts fans booed a 14 year-old girl who won the Punt, Pass, and Kick competition for her age group because she was wearing a Patriots jersey. Classy.
We were happy to read this story about Pats’ owner Bob Kraft bringing the girl and her family to the Patriots game on Sunday to honor her again for her achievement.
But here’s what we hope happens next. We hope that Colts’ owner Jim Irsay responds in the following manner:
“I would just like to say that you should not hold the fans of the Indianapolis Colts responsible for booing Miss Anna Grant this past Sunday at the RCA Dome. Our fans at the game were all politely clapping for each competitor, regardless of the jersey he or she was wearing. Unfortunately, our sound operator, the man in charge of piping in crowd noise during the games, thought it would humorous to hit the “boo” button on the soundboard. We do not condone his behavior, and he will be reprimanded. His actions do not represent that way we run our organization.”
